Getting to Towns ServerEdit

Getting to towns is a simple process. From any main area of the server, you can issue the command of /warp towns. This will place you directly in the Towny world spawn.

Getting a TownEdit

Now that you are in the towns world of your choice, you will need a town. You have two options: Join a town that has already settled or create a town of your own.

Joining a town:Edit

After choosing which towns world you would like to be in (Alpha or Beta), you can hit the auto shout sign that will send out an automatic message saying “May I please be invited to a town?” or you may choose to form your own request to be added to a town. You may use /w to chat within the towns world you are in to find a town with an open plot. You may also use /shout, but this is a server wide chatting area and is not restricted to towns world.

When being added to a town you will receive a request from a town staff member. The message will read “You have been invited to join (town name), /accept? /deny?” To join the town, simply issue the /accept command. To deny the invite in order to join a different town or continue looking, simply issue the /deny command.

Once you are in a town, you will need a plot (or multiple plots if you so choose). After the mayor or another town staff places a plot up for sale, you will need to purchase it. To purchase a plot, you must be standing on a plot that is “fs $ (for sale price)” and issue the command /plot claim. This automatically pays for the plot and makes you the owner of that plot. If you are buying multiple plots, you will need to issue this command on each plot.

Your towny perms as a resident will be limited to your plot. I recommend the first command you issue when buying a plot to be /plot set perm off. This sets your plot so that nobody is able to alter your plot in any way. Please remember that Mayors, Co-mayors, and Town Assistants will be able to alter your property upon your permission. Based on that town’s rules, other circumstances may apply.

On this plot, based on your town rules, you may build, break, create, etc. There may be taxes to pay, so be sure to keep making money (meebles) in order to pay for these taxes or you may lose your property and belongings. Depending on courtesy of the town mayor, you may or may not receive these items back. Also, being an active player on MeepCraft may be a factor in keeping your plot so be sure to check your town rules for specific rules within your town. Enjoy playing!

Creating a Town:Edit

After arriving in the Towny world, you can choose to go out from there or use the /random command to find an area to settle your town. You may choose whatever biome you wish in whatever area you wish, but please keep in mind the rules when settling your your town. You can find the rules here: (http://meepcraft.com/threads/towny.14282/).

To start your town, or “settle”, you will issue a command of /t new (desired name). This will establish a 1 plot town that you will then build from. Please keep in mind that towns cost 150k (150,000 meebles) to create. In order to expand your town, you will then issue the command of /t claim while standing on the plot that you would like to purchase. I recommend using the /t set perm off. This is to ensure that other players are not able to build/destroy on your town properties. Don’t forget, your town will have daily taxes taken out, so keep money in your town bank to cover them.

If you wish to move your town spawn area, you may set a different location by standing in the exact spot you want it and issuing the command /t set homeblock, then /t set spawn. In order to receive extra “available property” (room for your town to expand, you may want to add your town to a nation. In order to do so, a nation owner must invite you. You may ask in /shout, /g, or /w if any nations are accepting new towns.

To add a player to your town, you issue /t add (player name). They can either accept or deny your invitation. After the player is in your town, they will probably want a plot. To set a plot for sale, simply issue the command /plot fs, if you desire to put a price on your plots for sale, issue the command of /plot fs ($). The player to become the owner of the plot will then issue the command of /plot claim. This makes them liable for the taxes of the plot(s) they own. To set your town taxes, issue the command of /t set taxes ($), this charges them for being a resident in your town, or /t set plot tax ($), this charges players per plot they are in possession of. You may also suggest to the player to ensure their plot is protected by issuing the command of /plot set perm off.
